Arianne King Comer is a textile artist based in Charleston, South Carolina. She has studied indigo textile traditions around the world and established Ibile Indigo, an indigo farm and textile studio on St. Helena Island. This lampshade reflects her study of the adire technique of the Yoruba people of Nigeria in which cassava paste is used as a resist.
